Zen Housing Sets Ambitious Goal to Grow to 5,000 Affordable Homes by Mid-2026

London, UK – March 11, 2025

Zen Housing, a regulated provider of affordable housing, today announces its 18-month mission to help tackle the growing housing affordability crisis. According to one estimate commissioned by the National Housing Federation (NHF) and Crisis from Heriot-Watt University, around 340,000 new homes need to be supplied in England each year, of which 145,000 should be affordable. The current supply is falling way below requirements. With a clear goal to having 5,000 high-quality, affordable homes under management within the next 18 months, Zen Housing focuses on providing quality, affordable homes across England.

A New Vision for Affordable Housing

Zen Housing was founded on the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity for an affordable, high-quality home and is committed to helping to deliver homes that meet the needs of individuals and families across the UK… In the past 12 months, Zen has formed strategic partnerships with FTSE housebuilders, leading developers and local authorities. Through flexible deal structuring and speed of execution, Zen Housing has facilitated the future delivery of 500 homes with nearly 2,500 future homes in legal exclusivity.

Bert Broadhead, Co-Founder at Zen Housing, commented:

“At Zen Housing, we believe that affordable homes should not mean compromising on quality. Our mission is to provide places people are proud to live in while addressing the urgent need for affordable housing across the UK. By working collaboratively with best-in-class partners, we are confident we can make a meaningful impact in a short timeframe.”
